The Weaver Family
We are the Weaver family, Andrew, Ashley, Annie, and our newest addition, Frankie. We bought our 55-acre farm in Williamsburg, MI, in 2021. We sold everything comfortable, moved with our six-month-old into a tiny, old rental, and took on the 1855 farmhouse renovation. Like most renovations go, ours didn't quite go as planned. Our chicks arrived before we could move to the farm or even had running water. Andrew drove to the farm every morning and night with gallons of water to feed and water the chicks. After 10 months of renovation highs and lows, we moved to the farm. Within a month of moving to the farm, we had acquired 40 laying hens, 75 meat chickens, 9 sheep, 4 pigs, and 1 livestock guardian dog. Since then, we are happy to say our water is on, fencing has improved, processes have streamlined, and our animal numbers have grown as well. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to steward our farm, ensuring to leave it better than we found it.

Andrew
Now living out a childhood dream, Andrew is the big picture dreamer carrying out the farm’s everyday operations. As a child, Andrew raised laying hens, taught himself how to make maple syrup, cherished countless visits to his uncle’s cattle farm, and dreamed of having his own farm one day. Today, you can find Andrew filling waterers, moving fences, feeding, building, repairing, still dreaming, and working tirelessly before and after his day job to ensure our animals are well-cared for and protected with every need met.

Ashley
While the farm wasn’t initially Ashley’s dream, she quickly jumped on board knowing the farm would foster strong character and self-discipline in her family. Ashley plays a support role for Andrew, helping organize and operationalize his ideas for the farm. She heads up the farm’s marketing and social media. Ashley also hosts sourdough classes, teaching others how to make bread for their families. While Ashley is more comfortable creating content and baking bread, she’s done her fair share of chasing pigs in the rain, bottle feeding baby lambs, and repairing sheep fences while Andrew is at work. She is passionate about making the farm as beautiful as it is productive.
